L West & Son is a family run business which was established by Les West at the end of the Second World War in 1945.

Now over seventy years later it is run from workshops set within a centuries old barn in the village of East Dean, which nestles in a fold of the South Downs in West Sussex, where the family name dates back to well before the barn was first constructed. Traces of the West’s name can be found in the village back to the 15th century.

Luke & Jake West, the current proprietors, took over from Gilbert West in 2024, changing it to a limited company. They continue to run the business to the strict guidelines of value, quality, and craftsmanship which were laid down by Gilbert’s father from the very outset.

The company is proud that their skills and experience have resulted in a reputation for excellence.
